The Kustermans Story

Kustermans is a two generation family farm. Tony and Henny’s family roots are deep in farming, both growing up on dairy farms and growing crops. Together they decided to purchased 100 acres 40 years ago and began raising cattle and growing a few acres of strawberries. They later planted three acres of blueberries and focused on that while removing strawberries from the farming operation in 1991. It was a family effort week nights and weekends to make sure all the tasks of the farm were completed. This kept their four boys busying, which helped them developed an appreciation for hard work, animals and fruit farming.

2010

Steve Kustermans, the second oldest boy and his wife Hilary took over the farm in 2010 and started Kustermans new chapter into the agritainment world. Bringing both agriculture and entertainment on the same farm. The first step to that was to build the market. This market would supply their guest with option to buy gift items, toys, drinks, food, candy and their own freshly picked fruit.

2011

The following year in 2011, Kustermans added school tours welcoming children from different schools to visit the farm and learn about plants and animals. This was a natural fit for Kustermans as Hilary is a school teacher and seen the need to bring the farm to the classroom in a natural setting. That year Kustermans also started it’s first fall festival which included a very large 9 acre corn maze design. This attraction is still a big part of Kustermans today.

2013

In 2013 Kustermans added birthday parties allowing children to celebrate their special day at the farm. It was that year we also introduced day camp to come and experience the our Pick n’ Play package. This allowing camps to enjoy the Adventure Farm and the experience and fun of picking berries to enjoy and take home.

2014

In 2014 Kustermans added a Haunted Trail, this adding a new dimension to the fall season allowing all ages to enjoy Kustermans. In 2016 Anna’s Barn was built. We are excited to bring back our Haunted event this season.

2018

In 2018 Kustermans added another festival with the sunflowers. This allowing guests to roam through the sunflower fields taking selfies and enjoy the beauty of the plant with the bees and butterflies. We plant many varieties allowing everyone to enjoy the splendour and unique qualities that each flower has to offer.

2019

2019 Kustermans offered strawberries again for the first time in 28 years and we are excited for the new attraction. Today Kustermans has 14 acres of blueberries, 3 acres of strawberries, 2 acres of raspberries and 5 acres of pumpkins
